Francis Martin is a painter specialising in the figure and landscape. He studied Fine Art Practice and Theory at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton before commencing a scholarship to study on the postgraduate course at the Royal Drawing School.

His paintings are rooted in figurative representation with an interest in recreating a personal sense of place or subject. He aims to present more than simply facts and to somehow convey a sensibility toward the experience of seeing.

Francis is currently working on portrait commissions whilst developing a body of work investigating the natural landscape through changing light, weather and the seasons. These paintings will be displayed as a solo exhibition in the Autumn of next year (2026)

His work is held in public and private collections across the UK and Europe.
